"Tonari no Yaoi-Chan" is an original character and open entry contest held during the Gion Festival in 2005. Since then, its popularity has risen and in 2006, a comic book was released. As a result, the character became even more popular with over 300,000 copies sold and a DVD release.
This exhibition features the birth of Yaoi-chan, along with how a small local community gained much success through its PR activity.
