At MEM Gallery
Media: Painting, Video installation, Art Party, Art Talk

After graduating from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts & Music's Department of Inter Media Art, Maki Toshima has presented both two and three dimensional art that is inspired from linking world myths and historical narratives to the contemporary.
The title of the exhibition, "alkaloidrome" is a synthesis of the word "alkaloid," the poisonous substance found in Nandina, and the word syndrome. The plant's poisonous aspect is a topic that Toshima repeatedly focuses on, yet for this exhibition new works in the form of a video installation and paintings will be on display.
