"How to Use the Water in Ashiya: Ecology in the Edo Period" Exhibition
This event has ended.
At Ashiya City Museum of Art & History
Media: Painting, Drawing, Calligraphy
This exhibition focuses on the idea of "water" in Ashiya in the Edo period. The water from the Ashiya river and Okuike have been a great blessing to Ashiya; it has enhanced agricultural and industrial development through waterwheels. However, the possession of water also caused much dispute between residents.
Today, the idea of a "possible maintenance" of water is a crucial topic for the future. This exhibition introduces hints on life created with water in the Edo period.
