"Taisho Decadence 'Yumeji School' + 'Teruwo Banka'" Exhibition
The Museum of Modern Art, Wakayama
This event has ended.
In conjunction with Yumeji Takehisa's "Drawing is Living" exhibition, the exhibition will display work by artists who had avid interaction with Yumeji.
1. From the late Meiji period to early Taisho period, there was the "Yumeji School" filled with young painters who respected Yumeji's works. On display are works from these artists, donated by the family of Koshiro Onchi.
2. Yumeji held his first solo exihbition in Kyoto, but did not associate himself with the Kyoto School of painters. Yet he established camaraderie with Teruwo Hada and Banka Nosenagase, two unique painters who also resided in Kyoto.
