At Gallery Raku
Media: Painting

While most of the works displayed were produced in 2006 and 2007, one piece, the "Girl Lying Down," was created before 1960 during Ishimoto's youth. Hence, the works exhibited show the artist's recurring images of women that have continued for over half a century.
In recent years, the art world has focused on young Japanese artists who make pseudo-classical works; in a national art competition, a young artist who used powdered mineral pigments won an award. Ishimoto utilizes mineral pigments and expresses soft textures in his work.
