Marie Laurencin Exhibition
This event has ended.
At Suntory Museum
Media: Painting, Prints, Art Talk
Marie Laurencin painted elegant females in light colors such as rose, gray, and blue. Surrounded by 20th century's most influential artists like Picasso and Braque, she developed a distinctive style and was recognized as the first independent female painter. With a life full of drama, she was born as an illegitimate child, had a passionate love affair with poet Apollinaire, and lived in exile after a marriage.
In celebrating the 125th anniversary, this exhibition features about 90 works of paintings, watercolor paintings and prints by Marie Laurencin.
