It has been 130 years since the death of Takayoshi Kido, formerly named as Kogoro Katsura. Kido married Ikumatsu, who also renamed herself and became Matsuko. Matsuko was a proud supporter of Kido, who was a prominent figure in various political movements leading to the Meiji Restoration. Last year, the museum received many resources on Kido and the people involved in his life. Approximately 100 pieces will be on display that have not yet been viewed by the public.

Note:If Monday is a National Holiday, the museum will be open on Monday but closed the following Tuesday. Closed for the year-end holidays.
