"Original Illustrations' (Apostrophe) Kyoto" Exhibition

This event has ended.
At Kyoto International Manga Museum
Media: Illustration, Art Talk, Performance Art

"Original Illustrations' (Apostrophe)" are highly elaborate computer reproductions of the cartoonist's original hand-drawn illustrations. Keiko Takemiya, cartoonist and professor at Kyoto Seika University Department of Manga, invented this method in hopes to enhance the preservation and education of manga culture.
This exhibition introduces visitors to this project, which has increased its value with the increasing recognition of Japanese manga. Despite the fact that the works are reproductions, they are high quality prints that maintain the subtle color changes. Hence, the works are called "Original Illustrations'".
