Imari ceramics arrived in the Sakai area almost as soon as they were first produced. During the excavation of the Sakai Moat Town site, starting with early period Imari and through to the Edo era, a great number of Imari ceramics have been uncovered. This exhibition will feature documents from the early period Imari excavation and will also showcase many superb pieces from Imari's zenith.
