The Osaka "Gunkan apartments" (warship apartments) of the early Showa years were at the time recognized architecturally as having the newest facilities and being the most modern type of communal housing.
The artist has taken a collection of photographs over 17 years of the apartments' Heisei era forms. This has at last been put together as a book and to commemorate this the gallery will hold this exhibition.
