This event has ended.

Saeki Yuzo (1898-1928) died in Paris. Notwithstanding his all too early death, even now his works can appeal to us. Conscious of death getting near, his works were finished with an amazing speed that filled his painting with a peculiar sense of tension and rhythm.
This retrospective exhibition is composed of about 95 works, focusing on painting realized during his three-year stay in Paris, including his representative works but also works not shown recently.
Moreover, the exhibition also presents about 30 works by painters connected to Saeki, such as Katsuzo Satomi, Takashi Nakayama, Shinichi Yamada and Takanori Ogisu, so that visitors can discern their mutual influences, as well as the source of Saeki's originality.
