Developed in Saga (present day Kyushu) during the Edo Period and admired by the shogunate families, the Nabeshima Dantsu carpet is the oldest of its kind in Japan. This exhibition showcases 30 antique, including those bearing the famous crab peony crest, and contemporary carpets from the collection of the Yoshijima family, who have been in business for nearly 100 years.
