This event has ended.

As if creating an iconography of words, the paintings of Yasuhiro Kiyota are born from a selection of text which become interpreted in the form and material of his work. Having a particular interest in the abstract expressionism of artists such as Brice Marden and Elizabeth Murray, he is also an artist who gives great emphasis to form, often creating canvases of unique shapes, or working upon relief like supports. In recent years he has used the canvas and wooden frame to create sculptural forms, with curved and even surfaces, upon which he layers acrylic paint and other materials. In this exhibition he features 6 new works and 1 previous piece which offer new insights into his creative process.
