Paris and Kyoto: both cities have long, rich traditions of art and crafts. Moreover, both have developed strong fashion cultures. Nuit Blanche considers the possibilities for cultural exchange through fashion, something to which we all have an unconscious connection as an everyday tool, a business, and a medium of expression. Introducing remarkable works by artists, craftsman, and designers under the theme “New Creation in Kyoto,” Nuit Blanche Kyoto 2015 contemplates the relationship between fashion and art now and in the future, stressing that we must care for tradition but need to find a way to reinvent it.
