poster for Martin Creed Exhibition

This event has ended.

Martin Creed’s artworks are always moving. He takes everyday items, stationery, and so on, and arranges them in rows or piles to create an accentuated sense of repetition and regulation, and beat out a kind of rhythm. He is also a musician and songwriter with his own band for over 20 years. For Creed, making music and making visual art are one and the same, born out of the desire somehow to interact with the world.
This is Creed’s first solo exhibition in Kansai. With a focus on his latest video works, it features a range of theatrical artworks closely related to Work No. 1020 (Ballet), which is also part of the official Kyoto Experiment program. Audiences have the rare opportunity to experience both an exhibition and performance showcasing the essence of Creed’s work.

*This exhibition is part of Kyoto Experiment 2016.
