This event has ended.

A pastor born in 1940, Toshinori Odera discovered optical and geometric art in the 60s and continues with his abstract expressions to this day, fifty years later.
In his work, Kotaro investigates the existence and faith of characters by giving three dimensional form to 2D characters and shaping them into a container, and therefore questioning the act of gaining a physical body.
“Western paintings are vertebrates whilst Japanese paintings are mollusks.” These are the words of Usaburo Toyama, which have been quoted time and time again by a core member of New Geometric Art Group, Tokujiro Iwanaka. In this exhibition, Toshinori Odera and Kotaro explore the “soft spine” at the base of their respective beliefs.
