“Motion-drawing of Shadow” is an invented term that describes the creative method of the work. With passersby as the subject, Monami Shimada follows strangers in city streets, and by videoing them from behind, the artist attempts to express the relativity of “motion” and “time” between the followed and the follower. The exhibition aims to provide an environment in which the action of shadowing and the audience’s action of viewing becomes overlapped.
