This event has ended.
Japanese artists, whose freedom of expression was restricted during WWII, powerfully broke out of these constraints after 1945. They formed new groups, revived prewar organizations, and sought unprecedented forms of expression while exerting great influence on each other. This exhibition of works from the museum collection focuses on postwar artists from the Kansai region extending from Kobe to Osaka.
