This event has ended.
Stanick is an American artist who has a nice beard and looks like a Harley-Davidson rider. He was trained as a painter working with mediums ranging from acrylic on canvas, to recently with ink on paper or aluminum. It was during the era of Pop Art in the 70’s, when Stanick was in his studies, much inspired by artists like Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, and Tom Wesselmann. The motifs of his paintings are various combinations of girls in garter belts or bikinis, against backdrops of things that are all very America - the Arizona desert, New York’s Unisphere, reflections on windows of a convertible Chevrolet Impala, or American cartoons on TV monitors. It is reasonable to say that he broke through the Warhol perimeters of Pop Art by his art sensibilities, digital development and exciting compositions.
This is the first ever gallery appearance for Peter Stanick’s work in Osaka, consisting of 10 original works and 8 prints.
