Publishing photography books has always been a valuable means of exhibiting work, however photographers have become increasingly proactive in recent years with the growing emphasis on books as a form of expression in itself. A successful photography book relies not only on the quality of the work, but on many other aspects such as the compilation of works, the layout, the type of paper, the bookbinding, and the design. It could be said that only the successful amalgamation of all these components results in the book as “self-expression”. This exhibition leads visitors through the process of turning photographs into a published collection, and investigates the potential behind photography books as a form of expression.
