Tomoe Sasaki’s previous “Changing Afterimages” exhibition in 2015 showed works with multiple temporal layers placed upon a single surface, that looked at how images and emotions retained in the memory change over time. Extending on these works, Tomoe Sasaki continues to explore the properties of lacquer and turns her focus onto our relationship with the physical body - on both consciousness and flesh.
