Kansai is a breeding ground for all kinds of art. It is a place where traditional and contemporary art cohabitate and respect each other.
However, many of us find it hard to take advantage of these valuable resources. Despite Kansai’s abundance of practicing artists and exciting art venues, finding comprehensive art & design information on the Kansai art scene has been a tedious task.
To make life a little easier, we created Kansai Art Beat (KAB).
Without the help of the Gadago NPO and their experience building the Tokyo Art Beat website (TAB), launching KAB would have never happened. TAB is the Tokyo area version of KAB and has been online since October 2004.
Just like TAB, our site is a place for the casual “art-curious” to the serious “art-connoisseur” and everyone in between, regardless of nationality, gender, age and race. Here, everyone can retrieve information and enjoy a healthy dose of the Kansai art scene.
By having bilingual content, we offer rich information to not only Japanese people, but also to artists and art fans abroad, foreigners who live in Japan, and tourists visiting Japan.
Now is the time to explore the world of Kansai Art Beat!
