An artist’s dream of becoming a fireman was crushed at a young age – because of her gender, and the lack of women working as firemen.
However, after encountering female figures in male-oriented industries, Ai Kawamata began to pursue this dream through a photographic journey…

With a twist of fate, Kawamata encounters fire-“women.”
