To celebrate its coming tenth anniversary this exhibition will showcase the "The Means of State Aid" cartoon, which was featured in the economics section of the Mainichi Newspaper Saturday edition since May 1998. *Exhibiting at the 1F entrance hall

"Portration" is a coined phrase, meaning a mixture of portraiture and installation. Under the theme of portraiture, this unusual exhibition is Yuusuke Nakamura's first in five years. On the second floor for two weeks will be displayed in full color the pictures of three hundred people, drawn on site. On the first floor will be shown numerous original illustrations from Nakamura's previous exhibitions.

This exhibition features works by the sci-fi cartoonist Fukujiro Yokoi, commemorating 60 years since his death. In December of 2007, a book was released documenting his works and its power of how it influenced the famous Osamu Tezuka. Yuge's illustration work employs Indian-ink drawings and Japanese traditional goods, such as hanging scrolls, folding fans, and kimono.

On its 6th edition, the exhibition features works from 72 artists of various media and styles.

Ryouhei Koiso was asked by the Japan Bible Society to provide accompanying images for a publication of the Bible in 1971. Although 70 scenes from the Bible were suggested, it was up to Koiso to decide which scene to be used for creating the images. This exhibition showcases his 32 watercolor paintings and 43 sketches. Multiple sketches created for single scenes reveal Koiso's ideas for composition and methodology. Alongside the works, the exhibition includes panels displays of the appropriate Bible stories. The 200 works on display are all originals.

In celebrating 80 years since Osamu Tezuka's birth, the museum investigates Tezuka's life and five specific "divisions" during his artistic career. Works such as "Gringo," "Neo Faust," and "Ludwig B" were works that Tezuka started but never finished. Thus, these works became never-ending stories that will never conclude. The exhibition focuses on the concept of Japan. With motifs such as cherry blossoms, autumn leaves, and the kimono, the Kunio Sato creates original illustrations that depict the Japanese identity.

The participants in this show all entered the Osaka Design Technical School at the same time and are co-students of the same illustration faculty. And now CASO is the space where they will present their graduation works together. *Exhibiting at Room X [Image: Mikan]

Bruno Munari (1907-1998) was an Italian designer active in a range of fields, from painting to product design, art education, graphics and sculpture, who left behind a oeuvre unique, dream-like and overflowing in humor. To mark the centenary of Munari's birth, this exhibition, starting from the task of a "book" taking on his life, will comprehensively introduce his colorful career. Focusing on his early publications, it is composed of over three hundred works of picture book manuscripts, paintings, sculptures, sketches and films. Munari's work is filled with a child-like curiosity, ideas free and lithe, a rich creativity, and a warming perspective on humanity and nature. It is said to be a treasure forever continuing to glitter in our hearts. Colorful, brimming with the surprises of dreams, both adults and children can enjoy being in the enchanting fantasia of Munari's world.
