Having brought numerous commercials to the world as a director of TV commercials, Shinya Nakajima has constantly commanded the focus of attention in the advertising industry. In 1987 he was among the first to introduce digital technology into commercials, offering graphic designers and art directors the opportunity to enter the TV commercial industry. Ever since, he has been the foremost figure of the new digital video age. Marking the 20th anniversary of the birth of digital video, this exhibition introduces the world of Shinya Nakajima’s TV commercials, on which he has collaborated with 29 front-rank art directors. Among the vermillion-painted pillars surround life-size mannequins in period court dresses. On the big screen, videos will show the various aspects of ancient court life.
