Meriken Park is a waterfront park located in the Port of Kobe. In the park, there is the Kobe Maritime Museum with exhibitions that take place both outside and inside the museum. In addition, there is the Port of Kobe Earthquake Memorial Park that preserves a portion of the port that was destroyed during the Great Hanshin earthquake in 1995.
