The Ako City Museum of History, established in 1989, aims to educate visitors about the local Ako culture by collecting, preserving and analyzing its historical resources. The permanent collection includes artifacts that show the art of salt making, models of the historic castle town (a town built around a castle) of Ako city, and visual displays of the sewage system of old Ako city.
