The Otsu City Museum of History opened its doors in 1990, and has educated the public about Otsu city's history and culture. Through collecting, preserving and investigating resources, the museum aims to become a familiar and recognizable presence to all.
The museum holds a number of exhibitions throughout the year that focus on topics that focus on the local and national. The permanent exhibition features "the Culture and History of Otsu City" with video and model presentations. In addition, the museum actively introduces various aspects of Otsu city's history through related events.

Fee
Adults ¥210, College Students - High School Students ¥150, Junior High School - Elementary School Students ¥100, Seniors and Physically Challenged Residents in Otsu Free. Special Exhibition Fees may be charged separately.
