Museum in The Umeda area

The Ataka Collection of outstanding Oriental ceramics was donated to the City of Osaka by 21 companies of the Sumitomo Group. The City of Osaka founded the Museum of Oriental Ceramics to commemorate and display the donated collection to the public in 1982. The collection continues to increase through the generosity of a large number of donors; including the Ataka Collection, the Museum now houses some 2000 pieces of Oriental ceramics.
