Himeji City Museum of Art opened in 1983 to recognize the city's culture and aesthetics, and to nurture local artists. The museum's collection includes Japanese paintings, oil paintings, watercolor paintings, sketches, prints, sculptures, ceramics (Tozan-yaki) and Japanese swords. In addition, internationally recognized masterpieces, such as sculptures by Rodin and Antoine Bourdelle, paintings by surrealist Paul Delvaux, are present. In 2003, the museum added a volunteer room and art library to the facility.

Note:If Monday is a National Holiday, the museum will be open on Monday but closed the following Tuesday. Closed on days following National Holidays. Closed 12/25-1/5.
Fee
Adults ¥200, College - High School Students ¥150, Junior High - Elementary School Students ¥100. Special Exhibition Fees may be charged separately.
