Yokoo Tadanori Museum of Contemporary Art (Y+O MOCA)
Museum in The Kobe area
Opened in November 2012 for the purpose of maintaining the art collection donated by Yokoo Tadanori, an important postwar artist born in Hyogo, and to make them widely accessible to the general public. The museum holds a diverse range of exhibitions featuring artists in a variety of fields with links to Yokoo and themes related to Yokoo’s works.
The museum has several facilities, including an Archive Room containing a important reference materials related to Yokoo, including the stories behind his creations and his extensive associations with many notable figures. Lectures, workshops, concerts, and public art demonstrations aimed at both children and adults are held in the Open Studio.
