Gallery in The Kobe area

The Gallery Shimada, after 21 dynamic years at Motomachi as Kaibundo Gallery, has moved to Kitano, Kobe, to further expand its activities.
This location was chosen to provide a vibrant atmosphere for a dramatic theater of the arts.
Riran's Gate, is one of the major works of a prominent architect, Tadao Ando, and is suited for the Gallery. The interior is designed by Yo Shimada.
Gallery Shimada is not just a place for exhibitions, but a salon for the interplay of various genre, people and activities. Our hope is that this exchange will create new activities in the future.
The gallery hosts more than 30 annual exhibitions, emphasizing on contemporary artists, who try to be in attendance at their exhibition. The gallery hosts artists that are both well known and those who are up-and-coming. In addition, the gallery has also invited international artists from countries such as the United States, France, Sweden, the Netherlands, Spain, China, the UK, Bolivia and Canada.
