Jikaku-Daishi Ennin (794-854) was a Buddhist priest of the Tendai school and contributed to the foundation of Japanese Buddhism. The exhibition features 144 Buddhist art masterpieces, which include 22 national treasures and 51 Important Cultural Assets. With important resources and portraits of Ennin, this exhibition focuses on how his conceptual contributions influenced Japanese Buddhist art.
