"Hiroshige's Tokaido" Exhibition

Hiroshige Utagawa's "Tokaido 53 Stages" series went on sale for the first time in 1834. The series is well known for depicting the travelers and all the accommodation places along the Tokaido route, and as a work full of feeling. It is a masterpiece that left other highway series works far behind and became an unprecedented commercial success.
This exhibition will display all 55 works from the series on six folding screens, along with pictures of the famous 53 stages and other Hiroshige prints.
