Exhibition of 100 Kokeshi dolls from around Japan. Kokeshi are simple wooden dolls originating from the Tohoku north-eastern region of Japan. Now recognised around the world, kokeshi were first made in the late 19th century as souvenirs at onsen hot springs resorts, for which this part of Japan is famous.
