As the only the largest lake in Japan, Lake Biwa is not only a source of abundant food, but supplies water to 14 million people in the surrounding area. This exhibition explores the coexistence of people and Lake Biwa as well as the food culture that has developed around it through displays of excavated and other historical artifacts, as well as objects representative of the region’s folk culture.
