This exhibition showcases masterpieces of 19th century French painting from the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute, which boasts one of the largest collections of Impressionist paintings in the United States. 59 works are presented for the first time in Japan from the Impressionist school (Monet, Degas) and Barbizon school (Corot, Millet), along with several works of Academic and Post-Impressionist Art. Included too are 22 treasured pieces by Renoir.
