This event has ended.

1400 years ago in November of 613 there is a record that a great road was built between Nanba, Osaka and Asuka, Nara, which we can generally discern as the Takeuchimachi road and the Yokooji road of today. Furthermore this year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Yamato-Asuka and Fujiwara-kyo archaeological division of the
Department of Imperial Palace Sites Investigations at the Nara National Research Institute of Cultural Properties. This exhibition examines the important role of this road, from its construction to its function in trade and war across the country, presenting the results of a large body of research on this site.
