Sci-fi manga giant Leiji Matsumoto’s works continue to appeal to multiple generations. Getting swept up in the anime boom, manga such as “Space Battleship Yamato” and “Galaxy Express 999” sounded alarm bells about the earth’s environment while evoking a hope and romanticism for the future. In celebration of Matsumoto’s 60 years of creative activity, this exhibition presents hand-drawn illustrations, animation cels, magazine runs of his early manga, and other prized works.
