Pollution in Akamatsu from the nuclear accident resulted in the suspension of firewood-kiln firings, causing ceramics artist Masayoshi Ikeda to turn to crafting works that deal with themes of nuclear power generation. His Nanban ware created before the March 11th, 2011 disaster and crafts made afterwards are on display.
