The inkstone, named one of the four writing implements traditionally known as the Four Treasures of the Study, has long been regarded as a precious article in Japan, appreciated as an object as well as a daily necessity for literature. In this exhibition, the ways of appreciating the inkstone for its features and artistic value are introduced.
