This event has ended.

Although Kyoto and Nara are famed as former centers of the emperor and royal family, it is little known that in fact 3 cities of Omi were once also such strongholds. This exhibition examines the politics of the Omi dynasty, tracing the various events of the Emperor Shomu’s transference of the capital, the Jinshin revolt and Fujiwara no Nakamaro Rebellion, bringing new insight into a little known area of Japanese history.
