This event has ended.

Drinking spirits has always had the power to forge human ties. In ancient China, however, it played the role of not only uniting people, but humans and gods as well. One outcome of this culture was the creation of bronze and silverware sake vessels now appreciated as works of art. This exhibition examines how works of bronze, silver, and other crafts taking the forms of “sake vessels” and “divine beasts” served as intermediaries between the humans and gods.
