Presenting around fifty Nihonga and oil paintings on the themes of beauty and clothing, with a focus on bijinga (paintings of beautiful women) and female portraits. Among the displays are new additions to the museum’s collection, including a binjinga painting by Shimei Terashima and a portrait by Masaru Nakanishi, as well as works by Shoen Uemura, Shinsui Ito, Ryuzaburo Umehara, and Gustave Courbet. Also presented are 20 outstanding examples of modern Nihonga from the collection by artists such as Taikan Yokoyama, Shunso Hishida, Keisen Tomita, and Goun Nishimura.
