Tea bowls can be appreciated in many ways. From their shapes and sizes, to the colorings of their glazes, to their painted designs, to their bases and textures – all of these are important elements in a bowl’s beauty. Presenting tea bowls and other works by modern and contemporary artists from the Itsuo Art Museum’s collection, this exhibition introduces ten guidelines for understanding and enjoying these wares.
