For those of us who live within some kind of society such as school, family, work, or a particular community, there are various interactions and relationships, and consequently different human dramas that arise.
Since the introduction to Japan in 1900 of “The Crowd: A Study of the Popular Mind,” a book by French psychologist and theorist Gustave Le Bon, there has been increased focus on the psychology of a crowd, which differs to that of an individual. This exhibition introduces works of art that allow viewers to consider seriously what it means to live as part of society through the voices of various Japanese painters.
