This event has ended.
The Momoyama period is span of cultural history from the mid-16th through early 17th centuries marked by the important historical change from the turbulent Sengoku era to a time of peace in Japan. An open, florid, and energetic culture emerged during this pivotal time, and artisans competed to hone their craft and design skills. Osaka Castle now presents superb examples of Momoyama art from its collection, including paintings, maki-e (metal-decorated lacquer ware), dyed and woven fabrics, and warriors’ armor.
