This event has ended.

Originally from Kobe, Mako Ishizuka has been based abroad for an extended period of time and now currently works in Paris and Stockholm. Constantly labelled as a ‘stranger’ or ‘foreigner’ by society, she struggles with the difference between her background and the specific culture of where she resides, and translates the emotions and experiences of her everyday into her artwork. Not only restricted to perspective art, Mako Ishizuka works with various media to deliver projects that are born from essays and the relationships that come from conversations and collaborations with different people.
