The themes of Mayuko Morita’s work include landscapes, girls, animals, and fabric patterns. She uses a mixture of painting and collage, calling her method “pecollage”. The techniques she uses include projecting animations onto parts of her paintings, and dressing the figures in paintings in clothes that she makes for them. The image emerges from a momentary view that can blur the boundaries between fantasy and ordinary daily life.
