Kihei Sasajima "The Old Capital and Buddhist Statues Rendered in Monotones"
Nara Prefectural Museum of Art
This event has ended.
Kihei Sasajima's works mostly constitute landscapes of Aska and Buddhist sculptures. During his career, Sasajima was injured heavily and changed his printmaking process from woodblock printing to frottage (creating images by rubbing over a textured surface with ink and paper). By experimenting with various techniques, Sasajima was able to establish a name for himself in the world of contemporary Japanese art. The exhibition features approximately 100 works that range from his early career to those produced right before his death.
